A detailed documentation of the design process

The Design Thinking Process

The design process began with research and brainstorming about the needs for the product; complete with visuals. From this a variety of ideas were formed and sketches of alternative designs made for the initial iteration.

These were broken down and marked against the established requirements of the product. Changes and improvements were made, and designs were developed, as new demands emerged that original designs failed to meet.

3D renders of the product were made to visualise how it would appear when complete, and note any inconsistencies in between the design and ability to build it.

The Building Process

The building process involved breaking down the designs components to establish the materials needed, and which were best for it to best function. Once this was understood, and the materials apprehended as sustainably as possible, the measuring, processing and constructing could take place. This was complete in stages; with checks at multiple phases to make sure the components were being processed according the the plan and correct sizing, to ensure they would fit together at the final stage, and for the chance to make any improvements necessary that arose or were observed during this process.
